 | This programme is available for students wishing to enter the local
education system. The course focuses on developing language skills to enable
students to integrate and participate fully in the education system. * Offered in Sydney, Auckland & Victoria (12-18 years) * Victoria start dates: April & July (please contact us) * Sydney start dates: (please contact us) * Auckland start dates: Year round. Primary school preparation also offered (8 years +). Please contact us. Sample Course Content (in Victoria) 12 week course - The student will study 25 lessons/week that will cover the following course content: Mornings * Review of grammatical structures * Academic writing skills (1.5 hours/week in the computer lab) * Communication skills (communicative functions/cultural information needed to in a Canadian high school setting) Afternoons * Content-based studies in English literature, social studies, and science * Academic reading, listening and study skills * Academic vocabulary development The 8-week course is a repeat of what is outlined above, but the course is more intensive and faster-paced. If the students register for 20 weeks, they should be prepared to have the groundwork set in the first 12 weeks and to do a review of the course content in the last 8 weeks. |
