Do you have to go into debt
for your education? We don't think so, and even though Pacific
Life Bible programs of study qualify for Canada and B.C. Student
Loans(
If you are Canadian or Landed Immigrant) but we
do not encourage students to go into debt for their education.
Pacific Life Bible College is
one of Canada's most affordable post-secondary educational
institutions, thanks largely to the generosity of a network of
supporting churches.
FINANCIAL AID:
SCHOLARSHIPS & BURSARIES
A limited number of scholarships and grants are available to
returning students. The Director of Student Services will help you
determine which you should apply for. The Scholarship Committee
meets in January to award special scholarships to full-time students
on the basis of their Christian character, academic ability,
leadership potential and financial need.
CHRISTIAN SERVICE BURSARY
A 50 per cent tuition grant is available for dependent sons and
daughters of licensed ministers in full-time Christian work with a
recognized church or mission board. Applicants must be in good
standing at their local church, and must maintain a GPA of 2.0 or
better to continue receiving the grant in subsequent years.
SPOUSAL BURSARY
Spouses of full-time students may receive a 25% tuition grant.
Applicants must be in good standing at their local church, and must
maintain a GPA of 2.0 or better to continue receiving the grant in
subsequent years.
WORK / STUDY ASSISTANCE
Because of the class options available, students can easily fit
part-time employment into their study schedules. Morning classes for
full-time students run from 8:00 am to noon, Monday through Friday.
Afternoon and evening classes, intensives and independent studies
provide options for part-time students with various work schedules.
American and international students, whose visas from the Canadian
government do not permit outside employment, may apply for on-campus
work. Priority is based on need, and wages are applied directly to
tuition and fees.
AMERICAN DOLLAR EXCHANGE
American students will realize an additional benefit through the
favorable currency exchange rate; at the time of writing, the
American dollar is worth about $1.40 in Canadian funds.
CANADA AND B.C. STUDENT LOANS
Study at Pacific Life Bible College qualifies for both these
government loan programs. Although we counsel against debt, and we
believe costs at PLBC are low enough to be met without incurring
such obligations, students who transfer from other institutions
where they have taken out student loans will be relieved to know
that their deferment of repayment continues at PLBC until they
graduate.
PASSPORT TO EDUCATION
This scholarship for B.C. high school students, who attain marks in
the top 30 percent of their class, is applicable to Pacific Life.
USA VETERANS AID
PLBC is a recognized institution for United States Veterans
receiving scholarships.
